I am an Assistant Professor (Oberassistent) at the Institute of Mass Communication and Media Research at the University of Zurich (IPMZ). Further appointments include ETH Zurich (Department of Environmental Sciences - D-UWIS), University of Bale (Centre for Culture Management - SKM), and the Swiss Journalism School Lucerne (maz). My field of research, teaching, and consulting are mass communication use and media effects as well as social network analysis. Hereby, my work focuses on media use and effects in social networks (focus on adolescents), health communication (communication campaigns), political communication (knowledge gap and public opinion), social network analysis (networks of interpersonal communication and knowledge networks) and media psychology (focus on media sport).
